As time passes the skin can accumulate the effects of sun damage: wrinkles, sun spots, and dilated blood vessels. BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to safely reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and brow to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections block nerve impulses, relaxing muscles. Wrinkles caused by muscle agitation smooth and soften, giving the face a rejuvenated appearance. At Union Square Dermatology, a topical anesthetic is used to insure comfort and reduce the risk of bruising.
Restylane® and Juvederm™
For those concerned about folds around the mouth, drooping mouth angles and chin lines, Restylane® or Juvederm™ may be an option. Injections plump up sunken areas and smooth lines for a rejuvenated look. The active ingredient is a protein that occurs naturally in the skin so no skin test is required before treatment. Topical anesthetics are used to numb the skin before administration. The benefit of these treatments can last for months.

Laser Tattoo Removal
Many people have second thoughts about their tattoos. Fortunately, you don't have to live with your decision forever. Highly precise lasers can dramatically fade most tattoos by focusing light on the pigment, reducing it into tiny particles that are absorbed harmlessly by the body. All this can be accomplished without damaging the surrounding tissue. Results can generally be seen within a few weeks, although larger and darker tattoos may require more treatments than smaller, lighter ones. At Union Square Dermatology, the skin is anesthetized prior to treatment, insuring a nearly pain-free experience.
V-Beam Perfecta
Many people have dilated facial blood vessels as a result of sun damage, rosacea and genetic factors. This red, flushed appearance can be safely treated with the V-Beam Perfecta pulsed dye laser. A cooling spritz of mist reduces the treatment sensation to a mere snap reducing the redness with little risk of bruising.
Laser treatment of sun spots
Excess sun exposure at a young age can result in sun spots arising years later. Dark spots on the face, hands, and chest can be safely faded with laser treatments provided at Union Square Dermatology. An even, youthful skin tone can be achieved typically with no risk of scarring.
Mole removal
While certain moles may be considered pre-cancerous, others are benign. Depending on their size or location, moles can be beauty marks or distractingly lumpy lesions.
